My name is Michelle Hutchison, I have just started the small business Michelle’s Hobby House and this is my website made entirely by me.

I would like this website to be my art home base. I am excited to share and sell my art, but I’d also love to teach others about what I do. I literally couldn’t pick a “niche” to fit into – I do a little bit of everything, hence the word Hobby in my brand name.

Fun fact: my brand name and logo (created by me) were created specifically with the intention of using my personal initials and in the form that I have signed my art since I was a teenager, with the M connecting the H.

I just started going public with my work in 2021, before that no one even knew half of what I do, and I had no idea how to even go about sharing it. Art has always been a hobby for me, it is my stress relief and just what I do with my spare time – you never know what I’ll be getting into next.

I created a TikTok account and that has been where most of my attention has been and where I learned how to make video content of my artwork, I have nearly 400 videos on there spanning the last 3 years. So, check that out to see some of my work so far, especially if you would enjoy seeing process videos of the things you’ll find on my website. I have started a Facebook page and YouTube channel; I would like to put more focus on those, so watch of for those updates.

Through these outlets I would love to make process videos, show my work, share my passion and tips and teach others about different types of art and hobbies I’m familiar with as well as what I am learning as I grow my business. I love to learn from others, so I would love to pay that forward via my social media content.

Currently I have been into epoxy resin and have mostly been focused on one-of-a-kind jewelry for the time being, but I have also shifted focus toward wood burning, bookmarks, making coloring books (one of my biggest goals most recently achieved), and making stickers of my artwork (another major goal recently achieved).

My goal is to grow my online presence and grow my online store, I would love to make my art accessible to as many people as possible.

I am also very interested in taking on commission work, I enjoy bringing your visions to life, just give me your ideas and I’d love to create something special just for you.

Over the last 3 years I have been attending various festivals and events as a vendor in Ohio and I sell all the things you see on my website in person. I have grown from one table and an umbrella to a 10×10 pop up tent with various tables and I have created all my own unique display stands by hand. It has been quite the journey with my art and I’m excited to learn and grow going forward and share my experiences and work with anyone interested in following along or supporting me along the way.
